Student
Enrollment and Registration Reform
Â
Whereas SCSU exists for the primary purpose of furthering
academic excellence; and
Â
Whereas the registration of students is the key to student
academic pursuits and to all other University purposes and functions; and
Â
Whereas the problems related to the registration process are
myriad and well-documented, some of which are documented in the Chairperson of
Arts and Sciences meeting minutes of September 9, 2002, and are having a
detrimental impact on students and their education, as well as on faculty and
their efforts to provide that education; and
Â
Whereas a faculty committee exists with the purpose of
monitoring all enrollment management issues which include the implementation
and reform of the registration process:
Â
Be it resolved that faculty be included as full partners in all
registration implementation and reform efforts; and
Â
Be it resolved that the SCSU Faculty Senate strongly urges the
administration to fully support the activities of a coordinated enrollment and
registration reform effort and apply whatever actions and resources are
necessary to solve registration problems.
